Could 62 Million Homes Be Foreclosure-Proof? Is yours one of them?

When I read this it brought back the memory of a story told us by one of our school families about one of their acquaintances. Seems like this acquaintance had fallen on hard times and was several months behind in his mortgage payments. The time frame was about the start or the first few months of the Obama regime. Anyway the acquaintance wrote to someone and asked for some Obama sized relief.  Several months passed with the acquaintance making no further payments, then he got the deed to his condo with a letter stating something to the effect that they couldn’t find the mortgage note and so he now owned the condo free and clear. When we first heard this we just thought that the mortgage had passed through the hands of so many financial institutions that it had been lost in the paper work shuffle.

Maybe the mortgage was lost or this article could be the answer?
